Bye-bye, Bottle!

Last night we had a major milestone...Meagan gave up her bottle! Naturally, this was not by choice, but by force, but she took it very well. Greg loaded her up on chocolate milk (in a sippy cup) after dinner, then she had her bath and went to bed without protest. What a big girl! Now we only have Savannah's bottles to wash every day!

Sleepy Savannah

We are so proud of our baby girl for sleeping through the night! She was doing pretty well a few weeks ago, but then had a relapse and started waking up at 3:30 every morning to eat. I nipped that in the bud last night, let her cry for about 10 minutes, and she ended up sleeping 13 hours. Hooray! Now, let's just pray it lasts...

Meagan's 2-year Checkup

Meagan had her 2-year appointment today and weighed in at 23 lbs. (10%) and measured 33" (25%). Dr. Bubba was very proud of her growth spurt and Meagan was just glad she had "no shots"!

Savannah goes back for her 6-month checkup next month and we're guessing she'll be almost caught up to Meagan...

Happy Birthday, Meagan!

Meagan had a super sweet second birthday! We spent Wednesday morning at the Children's Museum, where Meagan loved trying on costumes. That afternoon, we ventured to the Incredible Pizza Company, where Greg was thrilled to discover they served Mr. Gatti's pizza (his favorite). Meagan had a great time riding the carousel, go-carts, and jumping in the moon bounce. We finished the night off with ice cream, presents, and a ride on her new tricycle.

Saturday morning was her Elmo party, and all of her friends from school and Little Gym came. Cousins "Oatmeal" (Neill) and Olivia drove over from Little Rock, and our friends Lana and Jim made the trip with their daughter Bella Cate. Meagan and her long-time boyfriend, Gabriel, took turns licking icing off the cupcakes and chasing ducks. When Elmo arrived, Meagan ran out to hug him and brought him back to the party. Finally, Meagan (and of course Gabe) sat down to some ice cream, spilling a huge chocolate puddle on the ground. Meagan slipped off the bench and fell head-first into the puddle, covering herself from head to toe. Shortly afterward, she decided she needed the bubble machine, and pulled it off the ledge directly onto her head. She got bubble solution all over her face and Greg frantically splashed her with water, which only made it bubble up more! They left to go home and take a bath, while my parents, Jeff, and Neill stayed and helped clean up.

All in all, it was a great celebration with a very messy ending!

(Oh, and little sis Savannah loved it, too!)

Mani/Pedi

Meagan has been talking about having her "piggies" painted at the salon for weeks. This afternoon, I finally took her to get her nails done, but she wouldn't have anything to do with the nail tech! She told the girl she wanted Mimi to do it (because she's the only one who's done it in the past), and wouldn't have it any other way. The girl was so sweet and let my mom sit in her spot to give Meagan her manicure and pedicure. Needless to say, we were quite embarrassed, but still managed to have a fun time. We probably won't go back there for another year or two!

Little Ballerina

Meagan has ballet class this week with her friends Mary Frances, Ava, Emma Grace, and Lillian. She is so proud of her leotard and ballet shoes, and loves to twirl around the house exclaiming she's a ballerina!
